“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
My attitude to food is pretty simple … it should be nourishing, seasonal, ethically sourced/grown and sing to the palate ! I am a foodie with a passion for a largely plant-based diet that is filled with gluten free wholegrains and creates harmony within. In this day and age with many diets claiming to heal all ailments and
demonising eliminating entire food groups, it can be a bit of a minefield in deciding what is best for you to eat ! I make it my business to not judge from any individuals diet choice, but instead be inspired by them.
I do not eat gluten as it can make me very ill ( can handle oats though ! ), I try to stick to unprocessed foods and a diet that includes natural sweeteners. Dairy sometimes agrees with me and sometimes doesn’t … but when it does I love it and again try to stick to locally made yoghurt, cheeses and milks. When I choose to eat meat or seafood I try to stick to organic and/or ethically sourced … why ? It simply makes me and my body feel better. Plus I believe it tastes better too !!
Many of the recipes I put on here will follow this sort of diet .. some will be paleo, some will be vegan … many will be healthy twists on favourites from my travels and home ( Scotland and Australia ). I hope all of them however will inspire you to eat seasonal, nutritious foods and get creative !!
